Manity: Possessing and/or exuding the quality of manliness.

Welcome Gentlemen and Ladies, to this episode of the Drunken Poet.  Today I want to address something that has been bothering me for many long years.  The role of the Man.  Not the ridiculous "Man" that Commies like Sand Vagina believe in.  I mean the Man's man. Clint Eastwood meets John Wayne kick ass, take names, and slap the hot waitress on the ass type man.  What happened to us?  We've been so destroyed by society into recognizing our feelings, and falling down over emotions and politeness that we've lost our natural disposition of burley, uncouth, conquering soldiers that live life by Testosterone and Balls alone.  In case you're unsure... testosterone is what makes us men. Look that shit up, science has my back.

Also, I failed to make note of it, I will be starting a new feature on the Blog, at the end of every post I'll be posting a drink of the day/post type thing. My gift to you, my alcohol swilling brethren.  Below the elusive break, you'll find your way into a world of tanks, planes, and flame.  To witness some of the most awesome and awe-inspiring man stories ever, hit the break, and read up.  Opinions and words after all, are for chicks.

Geek Pride Day: Celebrate it.

My friends over at Geekologie pointed out a very important fact to me today. It's the Day of Days.  That magical day where the meek rise up, and beat their opressors with lightsaber toys. The day where we stand proud, wince at the straightening of our emaciated spinal cords, and shout "WE ARE GEEK!!"... or we do none of those things and simply use this day as another excuse to play video games and eat cheesey poofs.  Whatever works.  (Source)

In order to celebrate this today, I've selected a few of my more favourite things from the internet to share with you, after the break.

Late Night Laundry Moments

Yup, doing laundry at 1am on a work night. Off on a road trip with English and another buddy from across the pond tomorrow.  Found the awesomeness.  Need to pass it on.

I need not explain anymore.  Pure awesome, pure win. Pure.

The Friday Rodeo

Well it's Friday.  I'm trying to do work.  Oddly enough, even though I'm trying to do work, the IT Department is completely shitting the bed, and therefore I cannot do work.  So in my time, I have decided to spread the joy of a few things I've discovered in the last half hour or so of trawling the web for funny things.

First and foremost, on a level of geekdom and coolness, and continuing my absolute love of everything to do with Star Wars, I present to you the fashion discovery of the century. Nay, the entire existance of humanity.  Never before has it been possible to not only wear your pride in nerd-dom so discretely, but to also be able to be doing it while sporting some nice kicks. The re-present to you, my non-existant or very small audience: THE ADIDAS STAR WARS SHOE COLLECTION!

It comes in many different varieties, show your love of the Dark Side, chill out with Han Solo in the Millenium Falcon, brighten the world with toxic orange Rebel Alliance flight suit swag. WHATEVER YOU WANT. Just know that Jar Jar killed the Universe, and Anakin Skywalker was only a badass once he got half chopped up and then killed shit for a living for a decade or so. Or in other words, when he wasn't being played by emokin Hayden Christensen.

The Friday Edition

Well, I didn't feel the need, and/or have the time at work to post anything yesterday.  But never fear, Friday is here and on Fridays, comes a day of slacking, or reading funny websites, and thinking back on the week that has passed.  And planning what sort of idiocy I can get up to on the weekend, which is looking pretty boring at this moment.

To start things off, I'll pass on this amazing group of awesomeness, a group of superheroes just Partying Hard somewhere in Scotland.  Crazy bloody Scots, how I love you.
Thanks to the Geekologie for discovering this, and to find the actual Google Maps Location: Click Here

Now, moving onto the more fun aspect of the world, where I simply sit down and explain a little bit more about my Blog.  This is literally just an exercise in self-indulgence. I write down crap, that most people probably won't read, because I am attempting to catalogue my experiences in life.  I have a few very dear friends, who will appear in this Blog under Code Names, as I don't want to have to give them a share of my future millions. Seriously. I'm a cheap bastard.  You've already been introduced to Sand Vagina and The Chud, and I've mentioned British. They'll appear a lot.  One man who I have failed to mention so far, is Volume Control.  But now I've mentioned him, and there's no particular story to go along with him today, I just didn't want him to feel left out; and I wanted him to discover his blog code-name.

I really don't know where else I was going with this post, so I'll leave it there.  Oh, and with a watermelon Death Star.

How deep does the rabbit hole go?

Well, it's time for my first friend inspired post. Now, originally I had planned on discussing something poignant or thought provoking, of the nature I normally have with my friend British, something about wide randing politics ethos, the evolution of society, or just how much better Manchester United is than any other football team in the world, but alas, fates have intervened kindly against the need for you people to listen to that.

Instead, I was inspired to share the first of many interesting and cool things that I find on a daily basis on this giant set of tubes that we call the interwebs. Full credit must be given to none other than Sand Vagina, that stalwart and misguided fellow, for pointing out this little gem found on Setanta Sports' website. It came from a conversation we were having about how four of us should all start a blog about our favourite football teams, and just fight each other all the time about them, perhaps providing merry hijinx and insanity for the masses of non-readers.

This conversation gave him a thought, to remember a show called Special 1 TV, on Setanta Sports. It's a Football parody show, hosted by none other than the Special 1, Jose Mourinho. If you're a Football fan, you'll enjoy these.
